TEST CAR 1983 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK

Terry Eveleigh is a production associate in the Nissan division of Dyna-Mig Manufacturing in Stratford Ontario, Canada.
His passion is his 83 Mustang which doubles in street and strip duty. This vehicle started out as daily transportation, but in 1994 it became a secondary car and the transformation began.
The first things were typical bolt on goodies such as exhaust and gears. That worked for about a year until the need for speed demanded that the 302 be replaced with a 351W. A cage was also added at this time. After some low 12 second passes and a loss in oil pressure the 351was yanked for the much stouter version now in the car.
Look for this red & white 83 at his home track in Grand Bend Ontario. Who knows maybe it will attend a Mustang event near you!
New: This car finally got to the track late in the fall of 2004. We made 5 passes with full exhaust. No modifications to the timing, breather or carb. Bolted on new slicks and initial setup on adjusters. The first ever pass was 11.80 ET at 113.86 mph (short shifting) 60 foot time was 1.708 leaving off of an idle. With a couple of adjustments throughout the day we ended up with a 1.610 - 60 foot time and the ET and mph stayed the same as we were only interested in 60 foot times. This car has stock lower control arms (boxed by Budzter) good polyurethane bushings and Budzter Coil Spring Adjusters . There still appears to be better times in this car. We'll find out in the spring.
