REAR COIL SPRING ADJUSTER INSTALLATION INFORMATION.
1965 - 1972 Full Sized Chev / Pontiac Cars

                                    Part No. BE-6567-RW

Budzter's Coil Spring Adjusters will lift your coil springs about 1 1/2 inches without any adjustment. You can then adjust for a lift of about 2 more inches. You can also use adjusters for preloading the rear suspension for maximum traction.

This coil spring adjuster replaces the original system with the clamp and bolt holding the spring on the lower control arm. This system makes your rear suspension adjustable for bigger tires, more cargo or passengers.

Installation information for older GM full sized cars from about 1965 to 1972. These cars have the coil spring held on with a clamp and a bolt. Always check the coil spring platform or lower control arm to see if there is a bolt going through to hold the coil spring on. If there IS A BOLT, then this is your application. If there is NO BOLT, then you have the newer type. See order page for this adjuster.

STEP 1: This is what your lower control arm should look like with the coil spring held on with a clamp and bolt.       Click to Enlarge Pictures

STEP 2: After you remove the bolt and clamp and spring, make sure there is no rust or scale on the arm where the adjuster sits. This has to be clean so the adjuster will sit flat. On some lower control arms, the bolt has pulled the hole up a little so we have left an indent under the adjuster to clear that. Either way, the adjuster will sit flat. Step 3: Next, you can bolt the adjuster on to the control arm with the grade 8 bolts and nuts supplied.

Make sure it is bolted down tight and making contact on both sides of the control arm.

Now put the top of the adjuster back on and turn the adjuster down to the bottom of the threads.

Step 4: Next you can put the coil spring on top of the adjuster and see that it does not slide off. Reinstall everything back on the car making sure the top of the coil sits into any groove at the top where it touches the body. Sometimes you will have to turn the coil to sit properly at the top. With each order, we supply a wrench to turn the adjusters.
