This is the Wills Fargo II. This car was
modeled after the original Wills Fargo with the addition
of independent front suspension and independent rear suspension,
to stop the rear tires from spinning when it came down from
the giant wheelstands it was famous for. It was probably
the only one of its kind at the time with independent suspensions.
The Kydds changed the independent rear
suspension to a complete 9 inch solid suspended rear end,
because the independent suspension took too much horse power.
In the early 70's it went 8:23 at Cayuga Speedway, now called
Toronto Motorsports Park.Changes in the rules and the cost
of running a top notch car got so high, they didn't run
it very long.
Bill Kydd Junior is in the Canadian Motorsports Hall of
Fame in Toronto Ontario, Canada.
This is a one of a kind car, that was owned
and driven by a fine family.
The above information can be verified by Bill Kydd Junior
to be authentic.
We have owned this car for 18 years and
bracket raced it at London Motorsports Park and Grandbend
Motorplex until we decided it was too historically valuable
to bounce off the guard rails. It has been in a heated shop
ever since.
This is
what the car looks like now. |
